The 76th Podcast of my weekly Podcast show Invite's Choice.
This week with guest: Zadig

After having S100 from Sweden on the show last week, we continue this week with a guest from Paris named Zadig.

His name has been popping up more and more with dope releases on Sino, Syncrophone and his own Construct Reform label.
The maiden release was his own but the imprint has now opened up to artists like Antigone and Voiski.
The new 004 EP is another strong package, I'm particularly fond of the Antigone mix.

I couldn't be more pleased with Zadig's contribution to Invite's Choice as well, since I'm the first ever who gets to broadcast a recorded live-set, performed at Rex Club back in July.

A high quality set containing only own material, loops and unreleased work, it's all there in Invite's Choice # 76!

Dadub is a meeting of two minds, Daniele Antezza and Giovanni Conti, a duo whose output is underpinned by a mutual curiosity. The result? Startling electronic music productions, one of the best live acts in the scene and the innovative Artefacts Mastering studio.
The collaboration started not in their native Italy, but in Berlin. Daniele arrived in Berlin with the kernel of Dadub, a project he'd begun in 2008 with a release on the label A Quite Bump. Daniele came via Rome where he'd plunged himself into production, studying sound design under Enrico Cosimi. Giovanni had been drawn to Berlin to work on interactive digital arts projects, honing his knowledge of hardware and software. Once they met it was only a matter of time before Dadub became a two-man project.
Twinned by a fascination of process, and a love of Lee Scratch Perry's mix board experiments, they take dub and push it into the deepest corners of techno and out to the ambient fringes. Frustrated by identikit sounds in electronic music they set about pouring their technical knowledge together in search of innovation.
They describe their approach in the studio as 'like making scent'. Dadub take sound and process it to extract depth and expose human warmth. With this studio outlook it was natural for Dadub to move into mastering. They delved in and Artefacts Mastering emerged: mastering that involves no presets and a policy of adjusting every track entirely from scratch. It's exactly this type of discipline, their use of open strategies instead of formulas that also makes Dadub so dynamic live. Live they layer dubbing and synthesis, they take Dadub material and deconstruct or reconstruct it spontaneously. Their sets are seriously deep and have been showcased internationally at Barcelona's Sonar festival, Germany's Melt! festival and in clubs from Berlin to Moscow.

This week with guest: S100

A project that I'm particularly fond of is S100; four members from Stockholm, Sweden that share a love for cables and hardware!
The entire thing is rather mysterious; few know the identities of the S100 crew, and I too can only guess.

What I do know is that the guys are putting out some wicked material; their Discharge is without a doubt one of my favorites of 2011.
Their upcoming split EP for Jeroen Search and Dimi Angelis's A&S label is yet again spot on!

It's not that often that I like all music a new artist puts out, but so far I haven't found any S100 material I do not dig.
That also means I'm very much looking forward to hearing more from them, making the fact that they do not put out an awful lot perfectly acceptable. What they do release is A-grade stuff.

Dope releases and great 75-minute podcast. S100 is my choice for this week's Invite's Choice show! Enjoy!

Carrying well over fifteen years of love for techno and performing experience with him, Invite is one of Holland’s few true household names. A modest perfectionist at heart, he translates his passion and drive into outspoken and highly versatile DJ-sets. Whether it’s opening deep and warm, closing rough and edgy, a small crowd or large setting Invite treats every gig with the same amount of diligence and respect. When given carte blanche and an extended timeslot, something he much prefers, Invite is able to move a crowd like few others can.
His career has seen him perform at numerous events including Planet Rose, Imprint, Time Warp and Awakenings, festivals such as Awakefest and Free Your Mind and venues like Trouw, Paradiso and Doornroosje, on multiple occasions alongside the likes of Surgeon, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims and Jeff Mills.
Invite’s reach doesn’t stop at the border however; he has played in Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, Scotland, Czech Republic, Austria, Scotland, Estonia, France and Belgium and is looking forward to a lot more traveling.
Early 2011 has also marked the launch of his own podcast series, dubbed Invite’s Choice. Aiming to provide international techno artists with a sixty-minute platform to think 100% out of the box and record a set without any musical limitations, it’s quickly become one of the best weekly podcasts out there.

This week with guest: Mary Velo

Originally from Canada, Mary Velo moved to Berlin in 2007 where she got strongly influenced in the Deep House & Techno scene.

Produced with an edgy and catchy sound, Mary Velo’s tracks prove that she takes risks and pushes boundaries.
In 2008, she started producing her own tracks and remixing others, which quickly generated great reviews, resulting in positive feedback and online exposure.

Her first vinyl release “METHODS EP” on Coincidence Records, which includes a remix by Delsin wonderboy “Conforce”, has brought Mary Velo to the list of new upcoming techno talents.
Her releases have gotten support from Luke Slater, Lucy, DVS1, Marcel Fengler, Markus Suckut, Par Grindvik, & Jonas Kopp, just to name a few.

I'm very happy she mixed a great podcast for my show Invite's Choice
Enjoy listening to this weeks mix by Mary Velo!

This week with guest: Dadub

Both members born in Italy, but living in Berlin these days, Dadub are working hard to get their sound heard.
The project consists of two guys, Daniele Antezza and Giovanni Conto, who actually only started collaborating once they had both moved to Berlin.

Crafting their sound in a serious manner and with eye for detail, its slowly but surely spreading from festivals like Melt and Sonar to club's in Berlin, Moscow and New York.

This is the first live-act to date who've contributed a recording of their live-set for Invite's Choice.
This one was recorded at Nicosia, Klub D in May 2012.
A clearly distinguishable sound and vision is what Dadub is about and what you'll be able to hear from them this week.

I'm very happy with and impressed by this almost 80-minute long podcast for Invite's Choice . Thnx Dadub!

This week with guest: Samuli Kemppi

A name that's impossible to ignore when analyzing the new generation in techno is without a doubt Finnish DJ and producer Samuli Kemppi.
Having put out material on Ostgut Ton, Mote-Evolver, M_Rec LTD, Time to Express, Prologue, Dynamic Reflection, Komisch and many more, his list of releases and labels may rightfully be called impressive.

Last week his new "Quadrant" EP was released on Komisch and again it's spot on. Played it out during my set last weekend (see my Soundcloud) and the response was great!

Together with Juho Kusti Samuli hosts the weekly "Deep Space Helsinki" radioshow on Basso Radio and also organizes events under this moniker in Kuudes Linja.
Doing a weekly podcast of my own has made me eager to check out and support other shows and DSH is among my definite favorites; high quality music every single time. The shows are uploaded to their Soundcloud page here.

Summing it all up; Samuli is an artist that fits Invite's Choice perfectly so this week a close-to two hour set from a Finnish hero, enjoy!

This week with guest: Ed Davenport

This week it's time for a personal favorite of mine who was born in England, but now lives in Berlin; Ed Davenport.
Capable of flawlessly combining house and techno, both in his DJ-sets and his productions, the results always are absolute treats for the ear!
Exemplifying this beautifully is his recently released album Counterchange on the NRK imprint; one hell of an album if you ask me!

His mix for Invite's Choice is no less awesome and am very happy with his contribution to the series!
The mix was recorded live at The Attic in Manchester, UK - July 2012!
Ed Davenport proves once again that two genres, house and techno, merge very well when done by the right person and with the right vision!

This week with guest: Thomas Hessler
It's Monday again and time for me to upload last week's Invite's Choice on Soundcloud.
This week a mix by the third Berlin-based artist in a row; Thomas Hessler.

Thomas is a part of Graphene, a label that's put out two EP's so far, with a third one set for release shortly!

Recently Thomas has been increasingly active in the studio and the resulting EP's on his own label as well as Sonntag Morgen have already allowed him to play at Tresor and in France, The Netherlands, Italy and Hungary.

More material and gigs are quite likely to follow from Thomas, so keep your eye out for this guy!

This week with guest: DeepChord
This week another artist from Berlin on my show and one that I'm very thankful for. Both the artist and techno enthousiast within me are fans of DeepChord. His music is equally suitable for the livingroomand warming up the night when playing out. This is particularly remarkable when one realizes all DeepChord's music is made using only hardware, a rare and welcome sight in these days of digital production.
His set for Invite's Choice isn't merely hardware, but still a great impression of what the DeepChord sound is. Combining his own material and that of a number of producers whose music I dig as well, DeepChord delivers an outstanding contribution to Invite's Choice!

This week with guest: Henning Baer
It's about time I invited an artist from Berlin again.
This week I've asked Henning Baer, one of the two people behind the Grounded Theory concept.

Besides being a bookingagency, Grounded Theory is mainly known for its Berlin events which have featured Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Redshape, Perc and Function in the past.
The future is looking bright as more nights and artists have been confirmed!

Henning himself is busy in the studio, which has resulted in releases on Krill Music, Sonic Groove and K209, the latter he founded together with Milton Bradley in 2011.

His oustanding prodcutions have landed him gigs at Berghain, Tresor and many clubs around Europe so I'd say a podcast for Invite's Choice is long ovedue! Here it is!

This week with guest: Exium
I've just received the 70th podcast of Invite's Choice, but it'll be another three weeks and three podcasts before that's online.
Next up in line right now is #67 from my favourite producer duo from Spain, Exium. I first stumbled upon their music back in 2003 through the Mainout and Rxxistance labels.
Exium's ten year old Radio EP is one of today's highly wanted and therefore expensive vinyl releases, making me very happy to be able to say one of those records resides safe and sound within my collection.
Many years on and Exium are still doing what they do best; delivering quality techno and showcasing it through an outstanding mix for Invite's Choice!

This week with guest: Francois X
We've reached number 66 in my Invite's Choice Podcast series and this week I've asked Paris-based Francois X to provide a set for the show.
This producer and DJ doesn't put out a lot of material, but whenever he does it's bound to be picked up by DJ's the world over. Loyal to the French Deeply Rooted House label he has released three EP's there so far, the last one including a remix from Marcel Dettmann.
His releases have gained him attention both in and outside of France resulting in a deserved gradual but continual increase in gigs including at Tresor,
Be Cool in Barcelona and Concrete.

This week it's time for Francois X!

Knotweed Records is among those labels positively making name of late. Labelboss Philippe Petit is no doubt proud as the likes of Terrence Dixon, Myk Derill, Gonzalo MD and Opuswerk have been responsible for a number of the imprint's releases.  Philippe himself put out his own music on the first and third of them.

Originally from Belgium he is now settled in France, after a lengthy stop in London along the way. He's a true lover of music; whether techno, jazz, house, deep or funk, as long as it's got groove it's good he says.

My choice for this week is a passionate music enthousiast and label owner of an outstanding imprint, who delivers a wicked mix for Invite's Choice!

It might sound like a cliché, but sticking to what you believe in really does pay off in the end. Dimi has been actively involved in the Dutch technoscene since the late nineties, his legendary raves at various

locations still speaking to the imagination of many.
Technofreaks abroad must know Dimi from his Counterpart project (w/ Jeroen Search). For their sound they draw inspiration from the classical Detroit minimalists and give it their own contemporary twist. As for Dimi’s dj-sets, he can venture into the deepest of house or the bloodiest of nosebleed techno, but he always stays true to himself and to the music in its purest form.
This week features the first ever returning guest on Invite's Choice.

After Dimi Angélis went the ambient route in his previous podcast (#006), this time he pulls deep techno tracks out of his recordbag.
I'm glad he did because his podcast turned out to be pretty damn amazing!
Dimi and his partner in crime Jeroen Search are currently very active on the production front, showcased quite clearly by the number of high in demand records the duo's been putting out of late.
Collectively also known as Counterpart, recent times have seen them focus mostly on their Dimi Angélis and Jeroen Search moniker and a series of releases on Figure SPC, Traut Muzik, Balans and their own A&S are the result.
Together they performed at some very nice clubs and festivals such as: Berghain, Tresor, Awakenings and Awakenings Festival.
Dimi and myself are both represented by the young bookingsagency Offset, where Counterpart and Jeroen Search are also to be found on the roster.
It is with good reason then that perhaps one of the most underrated artists I know, Dimi Angélis, is the first to provide a second podcast for Invite's Choice!

The 62nd Podcast of weekly Invite's Choice Podcast show.

This week with guest: Psyk
That this Spanish DJ and producer is doing really well will hardly come as a surprise to most; Psyk is on a roll!
Displaying a unique and characteristic sound, he has released his music on Drumcode, Figure, Non Series, Mote-Evolver and that's naming just a few.
The foundation for his success was laid early, as he put out material on Minus when he was only nineteen.
Psyk and myself have shared a couple of line-ups, including in my hometown of Utrecht. I'm glad to see he's doing so well in the current techno scene.
Naturally, the fact that he's providing this week's podcast therefore makes me very happy!

This week it's my own birthday and one of my best presents is a podcast from someone who can rightfully be called a musician, next to being a DJ and producer. Vince Watson is music. After so many years of activity he still doesn't receive enough credit for what he's done and still does. He has a truly unique sound, developed and evolved throughout his many years of making music. I can still instantly tell when I hear a Vince Watson track, a rare thing these days.
Responsible for one of my favourite tracks ever, Mystical Rhythm (I had to re-purchase the vinyl as my original one simply gave up from all the plays), I am very, very happy Vince has managed to find time to do a special set for my Invite's Choice series.
Last year I got a back-to-back set with major influence Steve Rachmad as a birthday gift, this year an exclusive set by a man which preform last weekend in Berghain and another personal hero; Vince Watson! Many tnx!

Here's a DJ mix I recorded for the Invite's Choice Podcast last month! It's a mix using 100% my own productions, combining the sounds of both my new alias Secluded and my normal Hans Bouffmyhre productions. Including tracks from my new and upcoming EP's on EarToGround, Sleaze Records, Enemy Records, Electric Deluxe & 8 Sided Dice. I hope you enjoy the mix!

Secluded, a new alias created at the beginning of 2012 by Sleaze Records label boss Hans Bouffmyhre. With the aim to explore a new techno vibe, inspired by sounds from Berlin & Detroit, Secluded productions are characterised with a deep pounding beat, softened by dubby synth passages and deep soundscapes, creating a gloomy atmosphere. With vinyl releases already out on EarToGround & Sleaze Records, including remixes by Jonas Kopp, Markus Suckut, Mike Dehnert & Shifted, big things are expected for the future!

"The 51st Podcast of my weekly Podcast show Invite's Choice.
This week with guest: Sawlin

I always enjoy asking new, relatively unknown names for my Invite's Choice series, especially when I feel they won't be unknown for that much longer.
Sawlin is such a name; a very talented German artist whose tracks I've been playing a lot of late!

After gaining some momentum with a release on Vault Series, he's recently done a release for Amsterdam's Ann Aimee, a sublabel of Delsin and one of my personal favourites.
It's only been out for a short while but the response on the floor has been nothing but positive, trust me!

Normally Sawlin's only bookable as a live-act through Grounded Theory, but for my Invite's Choice series he's recorded a super exclusive DJ-set with oldskool 90's techno!

Remember his name; you'll be hearing it a lot more very soon!

Mancunian Tom Dicicco has seen a rapid rise of late; with a performance at Boiler Room and after being picked by TEA blog as one out of ten new names to watch out for, that isn't all too surprising. Things are going well.

He's got an impressive list of releases behind his name featuring remixes and tracks for Stockholm LTD, Traut, Project Squared and Inner Surfac Music, the latter he himself co-owns with AnD.

After playing Berghain recently, he'll be performing in London and Rome at, among others, Speedy J's Electric Deluxe party.

Working hard pays off and Tom Dicicco is living proof of it. Fat releases, fat gigs and an even fatter set make this week's Invite's Choice podcast with Tom Dicicco one not to be missed!
