Something about Filterheadz:
The turning point for Filterheadz arrived when Jo Casters, head of A&R at Mostika found some of their early works on his desk. Jo got in touched with the brothers, and requested for a long string of remixes. Minimalistix’s ‘Struggle for Pleasure’ stood out amongst the rest. But Jo wanted more. The boys headed off to Ibiza to check out the vibe and discovered the whole Sasha&Digweed thing. With the sounds of Space Terrace still ringing in their ears, they headed straight to their studio upon returning, and started working on remixes that made it to the become the very few biggest progressive tracks of the decade. Now standing for ‘progressive but with tougher beats and a sharper edge, remixes for Hooj, Platipus, Nebula & Deviant immediately followed, thus establishing themselves as ‘first call’ remixers.
Subsequently, collaborations with Zzino & Tomaz proved to be prolific, as their techno output on Headroom labels Session and Traction started flowing, finding flavour with Carl Cox, Bailey and the likes. Intec eventually got in touched and asked for ‘latin techno tracks’. ‘Sunshine’ and ‘Latin Loopworks’ ended up being THE Ibiza favourite, and THE massive summer anthem for that year.
Offers to remix big hits like Green Velvet’s ‘LaLa Land’, Bedrock’s ‘Emerald’, Whatever Girl’s ‘Activator’, Eddie Amador’s ‘House Music’, Kira’s ‘I’ll be Your Angel’, just to name a few, further reinforced their fast rising status of highly acclaimed producers. And as if garnering the best ever selling techno record in history wasn’t enough, the brothers decided to go for another challenge. In their debut mix CD Tribalicious, tribal monsters, tech beats, spacious overtones and some downright offbeat stuff were reworked, remixed, rebuilt, and abused (quite ironically) to perfection. And the Filterheadz sound was further armored and recognized.
2004 WMC marked yet another history in the making for the boys, when ‘Yimanya’ created huge waves to become another Ibiza monster tune, so huge that it was made Pete Tong’s essential new tune. So huge that support from house, techno and trance DJs alike were massive. Just about anyone from across the dance floors to the consoles, from Tong to Sander to Jules to Tiesto – were all supporting ‘Yimanya’ in full force. Extensive DJ tours soon followed, but they still found time to remix for Faithless, Dido, Delerium, Tranquility Base as well as the biggest dance tune of 2004: Eric Prydz’s ‘Call on Me’.
2005 witnessed the birth of Love Distortion – a label wholly owned by Filterheadz. It is remarkably a dynamic move, as they continued to shine by releasing a few more big hits ‘Endless Summer’, ‘Cartagena’, ‘Santiago’ – this time under their very own label, receiving all-round support again, nonetheless.

Axel Karakasis is the most recognisable Greek name in the Techno scene. His career is marked by a number of classic themes and a series of appearances that have established him as an international DJ.

The rise to his present status did not happen overnight, but goes back to the 80s and the 90s, when Techno made its first appearance. Fascinated by this new wave, Axel’s courtship with electronic music saw a very different light… By the late 90s, he was already known through various DJ residencies in Athens, as well as through his regular events with his team “Bubbles” –to be remembered to this date by many! This was when the techno wiz-kid earned his place among the top Greek DJs and appeared in numerous events in the biggest clubs of the Greek capital! He soon became the most wanted Greek Techno DJ, playing regularly in the biggest venues in Athens, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Crete and all over his native Greece.
Being a restless spirit led Axel to new avenues in music production. He always wanted to play unique music in his sets. That’s what drove him to get into the studio and begin his own productions. In 2000, he had his first release on Pornographic Recordings and this was only the beginning, as a string of classic releases followed in the likes of MB Elektronics, Primate, Intec Records, etc. to establish himself in a genre he referred to as “Groovy Techno”! With his very own mark on discography, Axel’s international career took off. Confirming his status as the most sought after Greek Techno DJ of his time, Axel headlines events in some of the best clubs in the world, such as the Rex Club (Paris), Womb (Tokyo), Turnmills (London), tours regularly countries like Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, Korea, Croatia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Holland and Malta, to name a few, and has appeared in top festivals like Awakenings (Netherlands) Rabac Festival (Croatia), Apokalypsa (Czech Republic), etc.: he keeps exciting crowds all over the world!
At present, Axel releases his music in top record labels, like Kombination Research, 1605, Respekt Recordings and others, whereas his tracks have featured in well known compilations and mix CDs, such as Extreme Euphoria (Ministry of Sound), Cream Ibiza, I Love Techno, and many many more. However, his work wouldn’t be complete without his own imprint! In his first venture, he was the co-founder of Omega Audio Recordings, which received rave reviews and support by top DJs world-wide, as well as being a platform for new talents to see the spotlight. In September 2007, Axel decided to channel all his energy into his very own brainchild, Remain Records, which is gradually transforming into a brand encompassing both vinyl (Remain Records) and digital (Remain Records and Remain Limited) releases by Axel, The Advent and Industrialyzer, Marco Bailey and Tom Hades, APaul, as well as newer talent.

Axel’s strong reputation is based on his consistency towards the genre that established him. Always faithful to techno, Axel Karakasis delivers all-fresh, brand new sounds that evolve. Having earned strong support by clubbers and his peers worldwide, Axel keeps challenging the clubland with his releases and his full of energy DJ sets.

Biography of Dataminions: Damjan Bizilj aka Dj Bizzy became a member of dj Umek's Absense team (later Consumer Recreation) in 1995. Influenced by DJ Umek he soon developed his own specific dj and production style. He played on many big parties with well known djs, such as Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, Chris Liebing, Dj Rush etc. With dj Dojaja, they started producing their own music in 1998 under alias Temponauta and created their record label Temponautika. Dj Bizzy is a vinyl junkie and playes on 3 turntables with FX many years. His turntable djing divers styles like techno, electro, electro house, cliks'n'cuts'n'minimal'n'dub'n'ambiental'n'nameit. Agglomerating turntables and computer (efx and many digital instruments), using many different aproaches with real-time producing, greatly upgrades his performance and brings us a new, fresh idea of a dj, who becomes a nonconventional dj live act ... Bizzy is also Astrodisco, Unizzon, Dataminions, Ouroborots, Rotor (The rotors - Phonophobia), Chilli space,... movement founder.
Boltzmann's path in the realm of music began in the classical sense and soon ventured into the world of electronic music which was accompanied by ambition, inspirational drive and energy of a beginner which soon turned into utter committment and surrender to the craft. This, in essence, is the story of his music. Innovative, energetic and inspiring. Since the year 2004, the genre of his sound that he is faithful to is electro EBM – electro body music . In 2006 he made his mark, and did not go unnoticed with his first single on beatport.com among the »top100downloaded«. and with his video on the MTV Adria. He has received much success in clubs, as well as on the radio. In 2007 he won a DJ competition on the Radio Sora. Boltzmann enriches his melodic style with inspiration coming from other genres such as techno, that is why in the year 2008 he joined Bizzy's project under alias Dataminions.

The name "Piatto " stands for a combo, that is the brothers Davide and Alessandro. Since his childhood Alessandro follows his brother's group called N.O.I.A.
The N.O.I.A is probably the first Italian electronic musical group founded in 1978 by Davide Piatto and Bruno Magnani. In those years Alessandro is acquainted with Electronic Music and New Wave starting playing drum machine and synthetizers. At the beginning of the 80's he produces demo tapes and starts to play live performances with various groups.
In 1986 he plays dj sets with a punk style then, later on, they will become more techno.
For what about Davide: " Claudio "Mozart" Rispoli, Davide Piatto and N.O.I.A., Alexander Robotnik, i DFC Teamare perhaps the main characters of a new style of music that can be called "Nouvelle Vague" which has influuenced the traditional idea of Dance Music. These people with their "Homemade Production" have managed to reach international hits of music by inventing their peculiar and stylish music.
D. Piatto can be considered an "Angry Rocker" of his town (Cervia);
He can be remembered with his group " Rebels Without a Cause " for his live concerts and his italian neorock style, both for the kind of music and the look [...].
N.O.I.A. represented the isolationsm of the province, they used the first electronic machine, the analogic sinthetizer, the ones that sounded just like a noisy bip but then will have become the stylistic mark of lisergic visin of acid house music; they used to play drum-machines that only Kraftwerk played at those times.
At the beginning of the 80's Davide Piatto produces alone in his small bedroom two tracks (Dirty talk, Wonderful) that the world
won't forget: they were few minutes of repeatitive beat music produced at a very low budget that became records named called Klein and MBO .
Later on DJs from Chicago such as Frankie Knucles, Marshall Jefferson, Phuture, Farle Jackmaster Flash, wull trasform this cool energy in a masterpiece like "Love can't turn around".  House music found its origin, a new style of music was born, that is the remix and a new way of playng pop music. We can call it "music for no- musicians, but only a turntable and a mixer that will have been the two main elements of the music of the future.
Davide, at those times was not aware of lumat he was doing, he couldn't imagine that his homely productions could then be considered precious cult music by DJ Hell, Knuckees and the Detroit producer Adult. Recently Adult asked Piatto to record a CD with the unreleased tracks of N.O.I.A.

Something about Gabriel D'or & Bordoy:
The two artists were born in different countries but in the same year (1984).

In June of 2009, "Gabriel D'or" & "Bordoy" decided to combine their ideas and first-class skills. The immediate result was the release of one of the most sold tracks on the Beatport Minimal Chart: "They really need". This track was later mixed by artists like Richie Hawtin, Sebastien Leger and Alex Under, and was the chosen track for the "Cocoon in Fabrik" (Madrid) official promo video.

In January of 2010 "Supra Resistance E.P." was released to the public. Its track "Supranimal" climbed to #2 of Beatport Minimal, with "Water Resistance" reaching #56 on the Top Techno chart.

"Gabriel D'Or & Bordoy" are working together on new tracks with support from DJ's and producers such as Pauli Steinbach (Cocoon Recordings head), Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Alex Under, Xpansul, Rene Sandoval, Dandi & Hugo, Steve Parker, Ahmet Sendil and Sebastien Leger.[/B][/B]

Seven years of producing and ten years of DJ'ing guarantee a live set flowing with enthusiasm and strength. A certain originality is attained by mixing two live sets, creating a puzzle made of loops, fx, very groovy bases, melodies and vocals from Funk, Reggae and Jazz, in accordance with the tech-house style. The duo use a sound board, two Apple laptops, three midi controllers and a turntable.

In these few months of working together, the duo has performed with artists like Guy Gerber, Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Alex Under or Jenipher Cardini in clubs such Fabrik and Penélope Madrid.

Christian Cambas - Molotov Cocktail 009 [2011-12-03] by D2Techno
