Biography of Dana Ruh:
Born and raised in Germany‘s small town Gera, Dana Ruh soon found her way to the capital city Berlin. Besides her daytime job she got herself into the beat and sound of the vibrating music scene where she started her steadily rising career as a DJ in 2005.
Since then she experimented with electronic, house and techno music to find her own incomparable sound. Not only her DJing got her more and more into bigger venues, also her musical output as a producer let her to regular releases on labels like Einmaleins und Ripperton‘s Perspectiv. She also contributed remixes to the swiss Label Mina Records, the danish Connect Four and american Clink Records. That led to a wider attention in the european and overseas techno market and strengthened her name as an german artist, which from that point on could not be disregarded.

Above all this she founded in 2007 her own record label Brouqade together with a friend. The two ladies intended to completely devote their long-lived experience within the realms of djing & producing and urban nightlife to the release of electronic music in the soundspectrum of,clear Techno and House. Brouqade Records also featured videos of their artist‘s tracks which have been well recognized on respective plattforms.
All her forthcomin‘ EPs were released on that label and new talents such as Danilo Schneider and Benjamin Fehr were featured as well.

Her own musical development ushered her to new collaborations with well-known DJs. In 2010 she produced together with Cocoon‘s André Galuzzi for Ostgut Ton in Berlin. The EP „Mauersegler“ cracked the dancefloors and tracks from that EP have been put on different compilations. Out of this work the both artist created there own record label Aras in early 2011 to build a plattform for their productive liaison and support new talents.

Yet she has not hestitated to explore musical possibilities in her studio with her machines to continue her solo work. While evolving new sounds and tracks Dana Ruh hit some spectacular signings with Ben Watts‘ Buzzin‘ FLy and put a track on a Various Artists on Crosstown Rebels. As well there will be her own new releases on Aras and Brouqade. Make sure to expect some musical gemstones in the second half of 2011 to be released....Coz diamonds are that girl‘s best friends.

Something about Ivan Smagghe
France's most wanted radio host and selector, Ivan Smagghe stands at the crossroads between glamorous parisian hype and musical integrity.

His Test radio show and compilations imposed a new vision of leftfield electronica on Radio Nova and his programming for the two past years has been a faultless example of quality eclecticness. Though Smagghe hails from the early days of the Parisian underground - both through his connection with the defunct Rough Trade record shop and remixing contributions on various formats - he came back to music production in 2001 by launching his own Set imprint.

Something about Marc Romboy:
Mr. Marc Romboy knows what’s up! Being in the music biz for over a decade, co-founding and building up internationally respected dance-music labels and projects, Marc never got tired of coming up with fresh and innovative ideas in order to push the limits of electronic sounds.

Out of the dungeons of Moenchengladbach, Germany the thirty-something pulls the strings and makes things happen. His recent and most successful move definitely was to give birth to the already well established electro/house imprint Systematic in 2004 in Berlin which is a platform for his own productions as well as for hot and upcoming talents. Electronic house music with a certain breakdance appeal, reminiscent of old school Chicago dance floor insanity is Romboy’s true passion, when it comes to deejaying, producing and making decisions as the Systematic commander!

So far for the label he has collaborated with such high profiled artists as Booka Shade or Blake Baxter and signed tracks and mixes from producers like Martin Landsky, John Dahlbaeck, Olaf Poszgay, Phonique, Jence and Abysm. After only a couple of releases Romboy already managed to put his own stamp on the international club scene as a label-manager and a producer. Surely he’ll do the same as a DJ too. Nothing can stop this Teutonic boogie machine!

Something about Umek:
In May 2010, Umek’s traditional “Electronics Day” event in Krizanke (Ljubljana, Slovenia), which marked his 34rd and 1605’s 4th birthday, came out as a huge success much like “Disconautica” summer festival in 2009 (Koper, Slovenia) which featured 1605 Main Floor and had over 50.000 people attending.

Nominations and awards on world's prestigious music contests seem to just pour into Umek's pocket – he was voted to first place on Beatport's world Music Awards in techno category, not to mention he was one of the 2009's Best Sellers on Beatport. On last year's DJ Mag Top 100 DJs he was placed on 3rd spot in techno and on 50th spot in overall category.

Last summer was a hectic and a successful one for Umek. Beside his own resident nights in a popular Croatian club Byblos on which he hosted many world-renowned artists like Dubfire and Sébastien Léger, he was also a resident at Space, Ibiza on Carl Cox’s Tuesdays “The Revolution Continues”. To top it off, his “Party for a Cause”, a traditional open-air in Ljubljana, Slovenia was a huge success – which he shared with Carl Cox who was a guest on this traditionally Umek-only event.

Production-wise we can also count year 2010 as one of the most successful ones for Umek. In October and November he had two tracks on Beatport's overall chart placed on the first spot – the banging OMGWTF track and Back In The Race, which he produced with Beltek.

It is the 31st of October and CLR welcomes Joseph Capriati back on the CLR Podcast. The career of the young Neapolitan dj/producer who started to dj at the tender age of 11 has been moving forward at an unrelenting pace since he made his production debut in 2007 and he has often been considered one of the brightest new stars in techno. Since the release of his remixes of Adam Beyer's seminal 'Remainings III' in 2010, his fans have been spoilt with a steady flow of landmark productions including the release of his debut album 'Save My Soul' on home town label Analytic Trail; his chart topping remix of Joey Beltram's 'Slice' reissue; the marathon seven-track 'Gashouder' EP for Drumcode; and a debut on Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 label via Joseph's 'Wope' collaboration with Paco Osuna. Following his first high profile gig at Naples's infamous 5000 capacity Golden Gate venue in October 2007, Joseph has not looked back; spreading his wings and travelling all over the globe. The versatility and insightfulness that characterizes his dj sets enables him to connect with crowds across Europe, South America, Asia, North America and South Africa. Today, at the age of 23 he maintains a close relationship to some of the most important techno labels such as CLR and Drumcode and can be heard on several of those label´s events in the near future. Something about Mathias Kaden:
Whether it is Openening, Primetime or Aftershow, Mathias’ intuition for the crowd and location, proves each time again that he lives for his profession. His music is both, distinctly ambitious and refreshing. Following the House music of the 90s, he works thoroughly to create new sound structures. For a while, he has been using different types of percussion elements. The result is an enjoyable rhythm, which communicates with its audience in a very particular way. In a playful approach, he creates an incredible repertoire of feelings that reproduces within the crowd. Mathias’ various sets include the following sound features: funky, freaky, dashing, dub, slamming, enriched by African and South American percussions.

Inspired and motivated by the first House & Techno DJs at Bioxultra in Gera he got his first turntables at the age of 14. One could argue it is necessary to live wherever the sound rises at a particular time. However, Mathias draws on his own strengths. Away from sated urban in- and output, he has always maintained the objectivity for his music.

For 7 years, he has been the resident DJ of the well-known club Muna. He is not only DJing there, but he also supports talented folks within the Freshblood project. Additionally, he is jointly responsible for the Klanglauf events at Kassablanca in Jena, as a DJ and organizer. Together with Marek Hemman, Mathias released 4 EPs on the label Freude am Tanzen and 4 own EPs on Vakant. Amongst others, he also did remixes for Matthias Tanzmann, Onur Özer, Dapayk, Anja Schneider, Daniel Stefanik and Trentemöller.

DJing and, later on, the production of electronic music have been his occupation since 1996. With his style of work, Mathias joins those, who refuse to produce and release music excessively. Thus, the necessity to make records that will remain long lasting is one of the guiding motifs of his profession.

Something about Kaiserdisco:
Both Frederic Berger and Patrick Buck are true boys from Hamburg. They have had single careers of their own for more than 10 years, but when they joined forces things began to simmer.

They have so much in common that you could think they were twins in mind. Both started to play musical instruments at school and also started their DJ careers then. As they grew up Patrick started to study and Frederic started an apprenticeship. Patrick quite his studies and once Frederic had completed his hotelier apprenticeship both became professional musicians.

After several years pursuing their musical careers they meet up and discovered that they had a great deal in conmen and then started to work together.

Kaiserdisco signed to MBF two years ago and have since then accumulated half a dozen top chart positions on Beatport and international fame.
What started as fun in 2008 with a remix for Phunklarique (one half of Piemont) and Pierce, got hugely successful and won an award as one of "Beatport's minimal top 10 selling tracks in 2008".

Their “Pipe!” EP (MBF 12052) was a raw and psychedelic EP to start off with which earned shouts from DJs such as Format:B, Len Faki, Technasia, Joseph Capriati etc. With their Zapateria EP (MBF 12055), they created their first summer hit and title song, the a-side “Espandrillo” got very high in the Beatport charts as well as selling very good through Kompakt distribution as vinyl.

Meanwhile also remixers such as Uto Karem and Hermanez had spread the fame, when the 3rd EP “Amalfino” hit the shops and evolved as the biggest hit they had so far. Climbing up to no3 in the Beatport sale charts and staying in the charts for over 3 months, “Amalfino” was hitting the bulls-eye in every respect.
Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Stephan Bodzin, Dubfire, Tiefschwarz were among the many to celebrate the track in their sets and to boost the popularity of Kaiserdisco.

Since then Kaiserdisco have been gigging in clubs and festivals around the world. Releases on on TERMINAL M and DRUMCODE, KLING KLONG and on MICRO.FON showed that their potential was huge.

Remixes for BOOKA SHADE, UMEK and Swedish pop singer ROBYN are cooking.

After five 12”s on MBF they decided it was the time for the next step in their career. With an album release Kaiserdisco would be able to really show their whole range of music. The album „In no one's Shadow“ (MBF CD004) will feature 10 brand new exclusive and unreleased trax, as well as their chart breakers „Aguja“ and „Carachillo“ and will be accompanied by a video and an album tour.

Something about Umek:
Although he’s established technician, master of three decks and FX performances, it wasn’t easy for Umek to get acquainted with those needles and mixers in the first place. You have to bear in mind his home country was part of former eastern block and most of the small clubs could only afford cassette and CD players at that time. “I could only dream of having my own decks in the beginning of 90’s. As a single parent my mother could not afford that kind of expense. But I was lucky I’ve met few guys that recognized the talent in me and gave me the opportunity to start.”

Umek was regular at club Palma matinees at that time. He spent most of the afternoons standing in the corner watching deejay mixing records, until one day resident DJ Alf offered him to finish his set. He seized the opportunity, somehow managed to get through the night and they’ve agreed he can practice on that decks and mixer for an hour or so before the weekly matinee. "After I’ve conquered the technique and performed for a few times in Palma, I’ve got offered opening slot at Aldo’s night in K4. It only paid as much to buy one CD, but it was a steady job and I really liked it." It was also the time when he decided to sell his collection of 200 CDs. "It’s something I still regret, but it was the only way to earn money I needed to buy vinyl.”

In the early 90s buying techno records seemed almost a mission impossible for someone living and working in Slovenia. Closest shop with that kind of music was in Germany, almost 500 kilometers away from Ljubljana. “We heard there are some records shops in Munich. So we’ve booked the weekly shopping bus, drove to Munich, and found that shops on our own. It wasn’t easy but we’ve successfully finished that adventure. I’ve only had enough money to buy eight records, but this is how my collection started.”

Something about Go Hiyama:
Born in south Japan, Go Hiyama discovered techno music in 1994, when he got exposed to the sounds of such artists as YMO, Kraftwerk, Jeff Mills, Fumiya Tanaka and labels like Warp and Subvoice among others.

In 1995, Go Hiyama decided that it was time to start making his own tracks. His thinking for minimalism isn’t reduced to just music, so his tracks are always built by very different ideas and music styles.

Several european artists like Oscar Mulero and James Ruskin have always supported his productions, releasing Go Hiyama’s material on his own labels Coda and Warm Up.

Go Hiyama has released over 30 original productions on many different labels like Perc Trax, Token, Audio Assault, Planet Rhythm and the already mentioned Coda and Warm Up. His demand is rapidly growing worldwide.

Biography of Dubfire:
Dubfire’s “jet-black, polished-chrome techno” of 2009 harnesses three and a half years of upward momentum, highlighted by notable productions and remixes landing at the top of "best of" charts and set lists the world over. 2009’s "Split the Line [Dubfire Mega Remix]," an alchemic symbiosis of Paul Ritch’s "Split" and "Walk the Line," best exemplifies the dark and evocative sound Dubfire has cultivated since embarking on his solo journey.

In 2006 - after 15 ground-breaking years topping charts, winning Grammys, and earning acclaim as one-half of legendary electronic partnership Deep Dish - Dubfire returned to his roots: a diverse foundation spanning punk, industrial/new wave, jazz, dub, hip-hop, house and techno. "I Feel Speed," his first solo release, is a remake of the classic Love and Rockets track with Dubfire himself on vocals. It marked a musical crossroads in his passage towards a deeper and darker sound. As Dubfire's productions delved into techno's moodier, sonically edgy dimensions, critics and fans alike celebrated the new direction with admiration and enthusiasm.

An avalanche of accolades made tracks like "Roadkill" and "RibCage" instant techno classics upon release. Covers on Raveline, DJ Magazine and countless other respected music journals; an invitation to mix the covermount CD for Mixmag and DJ; an Essential Mix for the UK's Radio One; and glowing write-ups from Beatportal and Resident Advisor are just a small taste of the universal acclaim and rave reception. A barrage of remixes and productions on respected labels—including Cocoon, Get Physical, Minus, and Rekids—inspired the electronic dance music world, earning Dubfire praise from both DJs and producers as "the DJ’s DJ" as well as top to bottom praise from a myriad of online and offline music critics and fans.

By the end of 2007, Dubfire cemented his standing among the most forward-thinking artists with a slew of notable honors, including two Top 10 placements on Resident Advisor's "100 Most Charted Records of 2007" and the DJ Award for "Best Tech House DJ." At the 2008 Beatport Awards, fans singled out Dubfire as both "Best Minimal Artist" and "Best Techno Artist" - the latter a prized honor he would earn once again in 2009. Other celebrated industry nods in 2008 include the IDJ "Player of the Year" Award and "Best Remix" awards - for the dark anthem "Grindhouse [Dubfire Terror Planet Mix]" - from both Groove Magazine and Raveline Magazine. Dubfire also graced Raveline Magazine's "Top 10 International DJs" and "Top 10 Producers" polls in 2008.

Envisioning a launching pad for his own productions while nurturing fresh talent worldwide, Dubfire took another bold leap forward, launching his own label, Science + Technology Digital Audio. SCI+TEC rapidly built a die-hard fan base thanks to well-received tracks by innovative new players like Delete, Paul Ritch, Rocha & Lewinger, and The Dolphins. In March 2009, Dubfire presented his sonic vision for SCI+TEC with a DJ Mag covermount titled "Past, Present, and Future," revealing a personal mix of SCI+TEC's best and brightest. To date, the label's roster proudly encompasses a powerful mix of marquee players and hungry newcomers.

A thriving production partnership with techno maestro Oliver Huntemann was born in 2008 and continues into 2009 with a host of productions sure to bring the electronic dance scene to its knees with each release. Initially collaborating with an ocean between them, the duo released two massive dance floor hits: "Diablo" and "Dios." Anticipation for the Fall 2009 release of "Fuego" - the third installment of this powerhouse alliance - is at fever pitch.

As his productions and remixes garnered massive popularity - 8 are listed on Beatport’s "Best of DJ Charts, 2009" - Dubfire's goodwill among critics and fans steamrolled into 2009 unabated. "Split the Line" remains one of Beatport's top sellers. "Ten Years Cocoon Ibiza," a two-disc compilation [co-mixed with Loco Dice] met with further rapturous reception, further whetting fans' fervent appetites for the appropriately titled "Rabid," which was released in September.

Amongst his contemporaries, Dubfire remains a unique DJ, producer, and remixer - eager to hone and further evolve his signature sound. With an unmatched hunger to conquer the latest frontiers in electronic dance music and its rapidly changing technology, Dubfire delivers the unexpected and has no intention of slowing down.

Something about Format B:
Jakob is a Berliner, from Kreuzberg to be exact. As all good parents do, his wanted him to play an instrument. After years of successfully dodging music lessons and his parents wishes, he finally at the subtle age of 15 decided that he desperately needed a bass guitar, which then through diligent practice manoeuvred him from hardcore bands to funk and jazz bands. But suddenly, there was a small problem: he liked Techno parties much better than rock concerts.

So, as one does, he began buying the odd techno maxi here and there until one day little Jakob thought to himself: Why heck, I can do that too!

So off he went and bought himself an overpriced Atari St40 and a cheap synthesizer, only to realize that oops those guys from Detroit really do know what theyre doing and that it wasnt that easy after all. Well, that is basically where Jacobs ambitiously planned out life suddenly took a screeching of the wheels turn in another direction.

Franziskus is from Erfurt, a small and rural part of Germanys quite rough and wild East, which didnt stop him from starting piano lessons at the innocent age of 6. His musical interests took him from the usual suspects like Michael Jackson and The Pet Shop Boys through to Hardcore (obviously not on the piano). But then one day, or night to be exact similar to Jakob, all was to suddenly change.. A fortuitous night out at the legendary E-Werk in 1993, made this young mans heartbeat skip from Chopin over to a 4/4 beat where it was to remain, probably forever.

Three years later Franziskus took up residency at the infamous Sub ground Lighthouse After hour, resulting in numerous further bookings.

The paths of these two young men crossed whilst they were both studying to be sound engineers. Seeing as all the other students in there year were long haired Metal heads it was only a matter of time until their paths crossed. So, after spending a few long Berlin party nights together they decided to see if they could start a project together. And so the story ends or better yet, begins with Format:B

Something about Joris Voorn:
Together with friend Edwin Oosterwal the 'Rejected' record label was established at the end of 2006. Their first EP as Rejected featured the two tracks 'SL3' and 'Cliché' and became an instant success and was played out by almost every self-respecting DJ around the globe. With Rejected, Joris is working on a more club oriented contemporary sound instead of deep electronic music excursions.

In mid 2007 their second EP was released, featuring a crossover techhouse track called 'Let's go juno' and a driving minimal track called 'Lost'. Both tracks appealed to a wide audience and established Rejected's name even more.

In 2008 the two key tracks 'Let's go juno' and 'Cliché' were successfully remixed by dutch artists District One and Polder on one EP.

This year, the Rejected label has some great projects in the pipeline, to start off with a disco infected house track by the Dutch rising star Pitto.

“What’s that you’ve got there Boiler Room? Looks like some kind of satchel? Is there something in it? What are you doing? Oh! You’ve only gone and pulled it out the fucking bag!”

That’s right people, it’s time for the third instalment of Boiler Room Berlin – once again coming to you from underneath a swimming pool like it’s nothing. This time we’ve got New York house legend Levon Vincent coming down to show us what’s up. Be warned, he’s one of our favourite producers ever and he brings the god damn heat to a dance.

We’ve also got the genius that is Efdemin passing through, who is often heralded as one of Berlin’s finest. Ohhhh loorrda meerrrrcy!

Professor Roman Flügel has also been persuaded to bring down some records. He’s been working hard since the early nineties to creat the music you need to have a good time, and even though he keeps finding the answers he doesn’t seem to be able to stop himself. Thankfully

Fresh off the back of an astound LP, Cosmin TRG will be there the make you feel all sweaty and comfortable. Expect big, scary, whoosh synths and smiles on everyones little faces because he’s one hell of a guy!

To round of this assquake of a line-up , 2562/ sometimes known as A Made Up Sound will be kicking it all off with one of his formidable techno workouts. He always disappears for a little while and then resurfaces with a big bag of belters. Let’s see what it do!

Biography of Tiefschwarz:
Ali and Basti Schwarz - brothers and music lovers, created Tiefschwarz out of a passion garnered since 1990 from their first experiences as DJs at the now legendary clubs that Ali ran in Stuttgart "ON -U" (1990 - 1993) and "Red Dog" (1993 - 1997). These experiences and their obsession with the music they were hearing from within and across the German border, encouraged them to make the step from DJ to producer.

In 1996 Tiefschwarz was created and they began working together with acclaimed producer Peter Hoff in Stuttgart. After a few remixes, their first single "Music" was released in 1998 on Benztown and "Wave Music" NY. The success of the single motivated Tiefschwarz to record their debut album "Ral 9005" which came out on Four Music in 2000. "Ral 9005" was then seized upon by Derrick Carter & Luke Solomon for their Classic Recordings label in the UK in 2002. The album and the subsequent 4 singles (Thru a Little Window, Hello Again, Never, Nix) were received enthusiastically by both the English and international press, not to mention a growing fan base of music aficionados.

In 2002 Classic also released Ali & Basti's mix album "A Little Help For Your Friends" and their DJing career reached new heights with tours in Australia, the USA as well as gigs as far afield as Brazil and Russia

2003 saw the brothers up sticks and move to the creative capital of Berlin where they set up a new studio along with new producer & friend, Jochen Schmalbach. Continuing their burgeoning career as remixers (with previous greats such as their reworks of Masters at Work, Ultra Naté, Boogie Solitaire, Freaks, Isolee, Groove Armada) Ali and Basti went on to remix the likes of The Rapture, Cassius, Spektrum, Micatone, Lost & Alive, Lopazz, Osunlade, Minimal Compact, Trüby Trio, DJ Hell, Kelis, and Missy Elliott.

Their last single on Classic; "Nix" was the grand finale to a very special relationship and from there they joined and helped create 'Fine Records' in London (a division of Four Music, their former label in Germany). The first single was 'Ghost Track' accompanied by a Black Strobe remix followed by their fantastic 'Misch Masch' album which not only showcased their talent as DJs but also their remixing prowess on a double CD release.

The majority of 2004 and 2005 was spent juggling a high profile DJing career, whilst writing and producing their second and long awaited album 'Eat Books'. The first single from the album 'Isst was released in 2005 and was voted one of the best singles of the year by Trax and DJ magazine. After that came 'Wait and See' with vocals by Chikinki, Morning Siren' with vocals by Matt B.Safer from the Rapture followed by 'Fly' with a Steve Bug remix and then 'Damage' with Tracey Thorn and accompanied by a brilliant Mandy remix.

2006 was a big year for remixes, amongst other things. Three high profile mixes of Depeche Mode 'John The Revelator', Madonna's 'Get Together', Roxy Music's 'Rain Rain Rain' and Booka Shade's 'Darko'. Additionally, they released 2 mix albums - one for the outstanding Fabric series and the other in conjunction with the Time Warp festival in Germany.

2006 was also the year that Tiefschwarz began their own label - SOUVENIR. The project that Ali & Basti had excitedly planned for years with old friend Arthur Velasquez, finally came to fruition. The first release of course was a Tiefschwarz track called 'Hey', under a different moniker of 'Ichundu' which prompted fellow DJs and the press to conclude that Tiefschwarz were once again at the top of their league. The label has also carved itself a definitive position in the dance record industry of today by offering a continuous release of stand out tracks from artists such as Phonique, Riton, Tom Mangan, Ziggy Kinder, Ruede Hagelstein and The Psychonauts.

2007 2008 2009
besides traveling the world as djs again tiefschwarz moved the studio and took philipp maier aka sante´on board as their new studio and label partner..
so the story continues ;-)

Something about Uto Karem:
Seemingly leading the pack of Italy’s rising stars is Uto Karem, who in just a short period of time has produced hit after hit with forward thinking dance tracks that are fast becoming staples for DJs everywhere. With an ability to infuse cutting edge machine music with soulful grooves.

Uto Karem is currently making a real name for himself. His productions have found him fans that include the likes of Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, John Acquaviva, Marco Carola, Chris Liebing and many more.

Having spent his junior years in London, Uto's music ear was first shaken by bands such as New Order, Depeche Mode and Soft Cell. On his return to Italy at the age of 15, it was Underground Resistance, Novamute and Plus 8 that were having most impact on the young man.

In his late teens his DJ career took off, and over the years he has supported many of the worlds greatest deck talents. As with most of today's artists, the natural progression was to produce and after two years of study, he graduated in Audio Engineering.

At the end of 2007 he created "agile recordings" a new label born to promote & support quality music. the first release, has become a top seller, being sold out in less than one month.
