Biography:

Born in a family of musicians, Negru developed his artistry as a youngster, studying piano for 12 years and carrying through the family tradition, maybe in a slightly turned down drift, in 2006 becoming a dj in the after hour clubs of Bucharest.

He began as a resident in Studio Martin, then following gigs in all the important clubs of the genre, from Kristal to Midi and La Mania. He shared the deck with The Chemical Brothers, Loco Dice, DJ Sneak, Danny Tenaglia, Fatboy Slim, Alex Under, Tobi Neumann, JT Donaldson, Anthony Collins and already launched some notable releases; Morning Express, with Livio & Roby and Bate-n lemn EP, at Cabin Fever, sales leader on decks.de for 4 weeks in a row.

2010 clipped Negru in a professional ascension, planning on launching the long-expected Hold On EP, at All In Records, Bumping Church EP, at Cabin Fever and a brand new material at Deep Moves, Ilario Alicante’s label; all of them featuring Boola. Certainly, his first solo release, at Barraca Music, is ready to take off, soon to found on the market.

He experienced several musical areas, before the clubbing scene being a part of the local hip hop movement, featured on ‘Proiectul Verde’, a compilation gathering fundamental black music figures, finally, his musical ambivalence helping him to jell a clean and appellative style, as a dj.

At home he mostly listens to jazz, the passion for hip hop carrying up as a constant landmark in his electronic scene activity, so talk is cheap. You already know what we’re talking about, when you see ‘Negru’.
